Private AI on your own computer, for one small flat rate.
Chat, summarize PDFs, and draft side-by-side. Inference stays on your Mac or PC. Free today; from 2027 the basic service is $10 a year, with no per-token bill.
Everything you need, nothing you rent
A full assistant that lives on your hardware.
Private & offline
Chats, documents, and weights stay on your computer. Work with no network at all. If you turn on web, Wikipedia, or papers, only that lookup leaves the machine.
Documents & scans
Drop in PDFs, text files, or images. Text is read locally — including OCR for scans — so you can summarize and question the file.
Web when you ask
Need a current page, a Wikipedia article, or a paper? Aukenid AI searches from your machine. The query goes to the provider; the thread stays on disk.
Side-by-side writing
Draft emails, articles, and notes in a clean split view. Organize chats into folders and keep your workspace completely private.
Simple, flat pricing
Cloud AI charges by usage because every prompt runs on their servers. Aukenid AI runs on yours.
$0 / year
Free today. From 2027 a limited courtesy mode stays at $0 — local chat without the paid plan, so the app does not go dark.
$10 / year
The full local assistant at one flat annual rate. No token limits, no usage tiers. Optional extras such as remote access will be priced only if you add them.
$6 / semester
Not very sure yet? Take the 6-months alternative. Same benefits as the annual fee. Reevaluate afterwards.
Perfect for
People who want reliable daily AI on their own terms.
Budget-conscious creators
Tired of stacking subscriptions? Writing, research, and brainstorming for one small flat annual rate.
Privacy-minded users
Sensitive personal data, financial files, or proprietary documents stay off cloud inference servers.
Offline workers & travelers
A dependable assistant on your laptop while commuting, flying, or working with poor connectivity.

What's coming next
Still local, still yours. The $10/year plan, when it starts, funds this list.
A wider model gallery
Browse and install more models, and pick the one that fits the task and your hardware.
Your own knowledge packs
Mount a signed pack of your documents so Aukenid AI can search and cite them in the thread — on the same machine.
Remote access
Reach the app on your PC from a phone or another device you have paired, without moving the model off that PC.
Goals, not just prompts
Give Aukenid AI a goal. It plans the steps, calls its tools, and keeps going — still on your computer.
About Aukenid AI
Local intelligence for modern hardware.
The Name
Aukenid AI takes its name from the Andean camelids (auquénidos) — llama, alpaca, vicuña — built for thin air and local ground. It also nods to Meta's LLaMa and Georgi Gerganov's Llama.cpp. Intelligence that lives where you are.
The Vision
Personal computers can run capable models locally. Cloud providers still charge per-token rent for basic inference. Aukenid AI is built so everyday software runs on the machine you already own, and paid tiers cover extras you actually add.
The Builder
Created by Jaime Olivares, software architect and engineer, for a private workspace that runs on the machine you already have.
Geek zone
How the private product stays accountable.
Private product, public core
Aukenid AI is a private consumer app. Its core engine is published on GitHub as Aukenid.Core:
Scrutiny & contributions
The point of publishing the core is to encourage scrutiny: verify privacy claims, review how grounding works, benchmark performance, and suggest improvements. Contributions and pull requests are welcome.
License
Aukenid.Core is released under the PolyForm Strict License 1.0.0. It is intentionally strict: the goal is transparency and collaboration, not third-party cloning or commercial redistribution.
Frequently asked questions
The things people ask before they install.
What happens to free users when the $10/year plan starts in 2027?
If you don't subscribe, you keep a $0 courtesy mode for local chat — the app never goes dark. The $10/year Basic plan removes that mode's limits (no token limits, no usage tiers) and unlocks the full local assistant.
Which models does Aukenid AI run, and where do they come from?
It runs local GGUF models through llama.cpp, such as Gemma, Qwen, Ministral, and Llama-family models. A wider model gallery is on the roadmap so you can browse and install more models and pick the one that fits your hardware and task.
What are the hardware requirements?
macOS on Apple Silicon (macOS 15 or newer) or Windows 11. 8 GB RAM minimum, 16 GB highly recommended for larger models.
Aukenid AI notably benefits from GPUs such as Apple Silicon (Metal) and NVIDIA (via CUDA).
What data leaves my machine, and when?
Chats, documents, and model weights stay on disk — nothing is uploaded to a cloud account. If you ask for the web, Wikipedia, or papers, Aukenid AI performs that specific lookup directly from your machine, without intermediaries; the answer is then folded back into your local chat. You can work fully offline and skip lookups entirely.
What other charges are there beyond the $10/year?
Some new features mentioned in the roadmap require cloud costs, so they will carry an extra charge, always in the single-digit range: extended model gallery, RAG gallery, remote operation, etc.
How is Aukenid pronounced?
The word Aukenid resembles Spanish auquénido (American camelid) and is pronounced in a similar way. Listen to it here: /aw .ˈkeː.ni̯ð/
Privacy
The model runs on your computer. Chats, attachments, and weights stay on disk. Aukenid AI does not upload threads to a cloud account.
If you ask for the web, Wikipedia, or academic papers, Aukenid AI sends that lookup from your machine to those providers. The query leaves the PC; the answer is folded into the local chat. You can work fully offline and skip lookup.
A later sign-in is for device pairing and a pack catalog — not a copy of your conversations.
